ARK Config Editor

Warning: This program is no longer supported and may not work with the new, slightly modified scam of a game that is ARK: Survival Ascended. It was made for ARK: Survival Evolved.

Welcome to my ARK Config Editor! Simply follow the steps to create your own custom config and fine tune your gameplay experience. Why use this tool? Because ARK: Survival Evolved's built in gameplay settings sliders for starting a server/world does not tell you all the possible options and is quite minimalist. There are several settings here that are not listed in ARK's in-game UI. Please note that when the setting says "Dinos", that also applies to creatures that aren't technically dinosaurs like Dragons or dodos. Think of "dinos" as "creatures".

Step 1: Edit your config

Already have a config you wish to edit? Upload your Game.ini file here. (Will not work if not previously generated from this tool)

Leave default values alone and just skip straight to the download if you wish to use the config I personally prefer.

Setting Description Value
Baby Imprinting Stat Scale Multiplier This will change the effectiveness of the bonus you get in stats if you properly imprint a dino. For example, a value of 2 would make the stats twice as good as they would be at 1.
Baby Cuddle Interval Multiplier This will change the amount of time before a baby will request you to take care of it. Smaller numbers would mean less time needed. For example, 0.5 would mean the babies ask for attention twice as often, where as a value of 2 will have the babies take twice as long to request attention.
Baby Cuddle Grace Period Multiplier A multiplier on how long after delaying cuddling with the Baby before Imprinting Quality starts to decrease. Higher values mean more time and therefore more forgiving.
Baby Cuddle Lose Imprint Quality Speed Multiplier A multiplier on how fast Imprinting Qualitiy decreases after the grace period if you haven't yet cuddled with the Baby. Lower values mean more forgiving.

Poop Interval Multiplier Higher values decreases (by percentage) how frequently you can poop. This can lead to some intresting moments.
Crop Decay Speed Multiplier Scales how fast crops will decompose after being ready for picking. I suggest setting this value to something low since you aren't always going to be at your crop feild.
Mating Interval Multiplier Scales the interval length dinos have after having sex. Higher values means they will take longer before they are able to bang again.
Mating Speed Multiplier Scales the speed that dinos will take to create a baby. Romantic!

Custom Recipe Effectiveness Multiplier Higher number increases (by percentage) the effectiveness of a custom recipe.
Custom Recipe Skill Multiplier Higher number increases (by percentage) the effect of the players crafting speed level that is used as a base for the formula in creating a custom recipe.
Auto PvE Timer Set up a time system for when PvP is toggled on and off. Can allow for grace periods.
Enable the timer?
Use system time? If false, the timer will rely on game ticks (game time)
Start time (seconds):
End time (seconds):
PvP Respawn Intervals Set up a time system for when PvP is toggled on and off. Can allow for grace periods.
Enable this feature?
Multiplier for the amount of time that deaths further compound respawn time.
Respawn interval multiplier (A value of 2 will double the base respawn time for each death within the amount of time set above):
Base PvP respawn time (minutes):
PvP Zone Structure Damage Multiplier Specifies the scaling factor for damage structures take within caves. The lower the value, the less damage the structure takes (i.e. setting to 1.0 will make structure built in or near a cave receive the same amount of damage as those built on the surface).
Fuel Consumption Interval Multiplier Scales the interval fuel is consumed. For example, an value of 2 would mean fuel is consumed twice as slowly.
Disable Friendly Fire Turns off friendly fire. Pretty self explanatory.
Flyer Platform Allow Unaligned DinoBasing Quetz platforms will not allow any non-allied dino to base on them when they are flying. If you want your server to allow non-allied dinos to be able to stand on the Quetz platforms set this to true.
XP Gains Multipliers Multipliers for how much XP certain events are worth relative to their default.
Kill XP:
Harvest XP:
Crafting XP:
Generic (overtime) XP:
Special XP:
Disable Loot Crates Disables the loot crates that randomly drop onto the map like the hunger games.
Allow Custom Recipes Allows custom crafting recipes. I know, shocking.
Passive Defenses Damage Riderless Dinos. True allow spike walls to damage wild/riderless Dinos
Allow Tribe Wars Allows tribe wars. Obviously.
Allow Tribe War Cancel Allows you to cancel an agreed upon tribe war before it has already started. Coward.
Max Difficulty Forces all creatures to spawn at the maximum possible level.
Use Singleplayer Settings Don't feel like wasting your life? Don't want a sweaty competitive experience? This settings adds additional multipliers to other settings to make the gameplay experience more fun.
Use Corpse Locator Enables the server to show you a green beacon where your latest corpse is located.
Creative Mode Gives you creative mode.
Disable Structure Placement Collision You can place structures more or less inside each other with this setting on. Helps with giving you more creative placement options.
Allow Unlimited Respecs Permits an unlimited amount of times you can consume the mindwipe tonic, an item used to refund your level points. Without this setting enabled, you need to wait 24 hours to use the next tonic.
Disable Dino Riding Are you out of your fucking mind? This game is a dinosaur taming game, and you want to disable dinosaur riding?? WHY?!
bDisableDinoTaming (-ᆺ-) go play another game if you don't want to tame dinosaurs.
Max Number of Players in Tribe Changes the maximum amount of players in a tribe. Setting this to zero disables the limit.
Supply Crate Loot Quality Multiplier Scales the quality of the loot you can find in those hunger games style supply drops that drop onto the map randomly.

Allow Flying Stamina Recovery Turning this on will allow your flying creatures to regain stamina when you aren't riding them, regardless of if they are still in the air.
Item Stack Size Multiplier Scales the size of item tacks. For example, in vanilla, raw meat stacks to 40. Multiplying this by 5 will give you a stack size of 200. This setting is very useful for end game when all the resources needed to craft something might not fit in the crafting station.
Non-Dedicated Server Host Tether Distance Multiplier When hosting a world to play on with your friends using the "Non-dedicated session" button, your friends cannot go further than the tether value. They will get dragged to you if they go farther. To essentially disable this, set the value to a very large number.
Allow Raid Dino Feeding Allows you to feed your "raid dinos". These include the Titanosaur. Even with this feature enabled, they still won't eat by themselves and you need to feed them manually. This was probably a feature because the titanosaur is really OP in PvP, but on smaller servers there isn't a problem with having a big boi pet.
Raid Dino Character Food Drain Multiplier Scales the rate at which the Titanosaur drains his food (aka gets hungry). If "Allow Raid Dino Feeding" is disabled, this setting can essentially act as a life timer for the Titanosaur.
Structure Prevent Resource Radius Multiplier Scales the radius at which resources can spawn around structures. (I don't know why there are two settings that do basically the same thing, I would just leave it on the default value).
PvE Dino Decay Period Multiplier ??? No fucking clue what this does. I just leave it on it's default value of 1.
Per Platform Max Structures Multiplier Scales the amount of structures that a platform saddle can support. Set this value to something very high if you enjoy making massive bases on quetzals or rafts.
Use Global Voice Chat Turning this on will change the in-game voice chat system from being distance based to just being server wide. This is useful if you only play with friends and want to communicate with them from anywhere, but not very useful if you want a realistic amongus like experience where you want to only talk to nearby players.
No Tribute Downloads Turning this on will prevent you for downloading boss summoning items called tributes from the obelisks. This means you can't transfer tribute from map to map.

Always Notify Player Left This will send a global message when a player leaves the game.
Always Notify Player Joined This will send a global message when a player joins the game.

Allow Cave Building Allows structures to be placed inside caves.
Force Allow Cave Flyers Enabling this means that flying creatures may enter caves.
Prevent Offline PvP Enabling this prevent people's stuff from being damaged from other players while they are offline.
PvP Dino Decay If this is enabled, tamed dinos will despawn if their owner has been offline for a long time if PvP is active.
OverrideStructurePlatformPrevention Enabling this will allow you to place spikes and turrets on platform saddles.
Allow Anyone Baby Imprint Cuddle This will allow any allied players to cuddle your baby dinos, allowing them to progress the imprinting process to aid you.
Disable Imprint Dino Buff This will prevent the buff on imprinted dinos that increases resistance and damage up to 100% based on the imprinting quality of the dino.
Show Floating Damage Text This will allow damage numbers to render kind of like in TF2. The individual player still needs to enable it on their client-side settings.
Prevent Diseases Removes diseases. Diseases are permanent debuffs that can only be removed if using a specific and expensive in-game item. It can spread to dinos and players and is a headache.
Non Permanent Diseases If you decide to use allow diseases, this will at least make it so the debuff is removed if you kill yourself.
Enable Extra Structure Prevention Volumes Turning this on will prevent players from building near areas significant for progression of gameplay, such as obelisks.
Prevent Tribe Alliances Prevent the ability for tribes to make alliances with other tribes.
Active Event Choose if you would like there to be an event forcefully enabled on your server. If you wish for the developer to choose based on the actual time of year, select "None".
Difficulty Offset Changes the difficulty of the map, basically just increases the maximum level you can find wild dinos at. Official servers use "1" and so do I.
Taming Speed Multiplier Higher values decrease the amount of time it takes to tame creatures.
Harvest Amount Multiplier Higher values increase the amount of stuff you collect from harvesting actions (harvesting corpses, trees, rocks, etc)
Maximum Structures Nearby Higher values allows more structures to be placed close to each other. Lower this if you have a lot of server lag if someone put millions of toilets in their house.
Oxygen Swim Speed Stat Multiplier Increasing this value cases you to swim faster for each level point spent in the "Oxygen" spec.
Tribe Name Change Cooldown Sets the time in minutes in between tribe name changes.
Platform Saddle Build Area Bounds Multiplier Changes the distance from a platform saddle a structure can be placed. This can allow you to make some massive structures on big flying birb.
AlwaysAllowStructurePickup Enabling this removed the cooldown that gives you the chance to pick a structure back up. This makes it so you can always pick up your structures regardless of how long they've been there.
Structure Pickup Hold Duration Sets the time in seconds that you must hold the option to pick up a structure. This prevents accidentally instantly picking up and breaking your entire house when you mean to repair it, for example.
Allow Integrated SPlus Structures Are you using the Structures Plus mod? This setting will allow those structures to replace vanilla structures in the menu since they are essentially the same, only improved.
Allow Hide Damage Source From Tribe Logs Allows tribe members to hide the source of damage in the tribe event log.
Kick Idle Players Period Sets the amount of time in seconds a player can be AFK before being kicked from the server.

Dino Character Food Drain Multiplier Specifies the scaling factor for dinosaurs' food consumption. Higher values increase food consumption (dinosaurs get hungry faster). It also affects the taming-times.
